On May 11th, 2023 National Beach Wrestling Tournament kicked off at Sanya, Hainan. The Tournament was organized by the Weightlifting, Wrestling and Judo Sports Management Center of General Administration of Sports of China, Chinese Wrestling Association, the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television and Sports of Hainan Province. It is the first time for China to hold the tournament in which 18 teams and 146 athletes join. The students majoring in Wushu and National Traditional Sports of University of Sanya took part in the tournament and won one silver medal and five bronze medal.
The tournament last two days. The athletes involved the gold medalists of Asian and national tournaments of international wrestling events as well as the excellent ones of Chinese wrestling and Judo events. Facing such strong rivals, our students dared to challenge and showed combatant spirit and good techniques.
